“Am I an unnecessary complication?”

Radio Poems 001 and 002

i'm no doctor

he had a red bull like thrown at his head
please come home
and the calibre of experience being on that stage is so astonishing
and the police
the pope's popularity is helping
absolutely annoying, or who sent you spam messages all the time
go ahead and hit the block button
that's where the team lets their slow equipment manager come in for one unnecessary play
at the game like a worthy sort of thing, and everybody just sort of falls down
at the pruneyard shopping center in campbell
i'm no doctor, but that seems like a dull response to an acute problem

america runs on dunkin'

was humpty dumpty's mom a chicken?
if it can get rid of those smells, it can get rid of the smell of your butt in the bathroom
prison radio has enabled his voice to escape those bars, and that's how we know
tulips, banks, brouhaha and more money
are we feeling confident?
the deer hunting is at slim's tomorrow night, and i think there's one more thing you wanted to mention
got all dressed up and paid a whole lot to go to dinner
but the symphony continues
join the party as we honor our heritage with great items
for just fifty cents each, that's two for a buck
oh, heartburn, then your baby is going to have a full head of hair
life is better with surprises
like the total-disbelief-surprise
he calmly filed reports as everyone around him was in a panic
they were set up, and then systematically knocked off
it's the next best thing to fresh squeezed, and it pairs great with breakfast sandwiches
america runs on dunkin'

I guess we are two stray cats
just taking what we can get
and sometimes, it isn't ours
I guess we're good at that

I got stuck on a staycation
on a not so minor guilt trip
can't remember where to go
to feel at home

Dropping Out of College, It's Cool

I'm pretty happy
and you're singing softly in your room

I'm writing a poem in my own but it's going to your tune

you eat my crackers

and I smile at your laughter

and I don't know you
and you don't care if I do
there are no sheets on your bed
and I always stay in instead
I don't drink and you don't drive
when it's raining we forget and leave our bikes outside
I like your clothes and you're scared of me behind the wheel
we don't care how each other feel
and I don't know if that's even true
you don't know me
and I really don't know you

you ask how my work day was
I ask if you did anything at all
we hardly talk, big or small
and we seem to like it that way
cause we don't have a lot,
not even a living room
but everything seems to be okay
