"I love you.
But I have to love you the way that I am."
I only thought of you once yesterday.

Sitting at my computer, I wondered if what would make you feel so miserable that you are compelled to contact me. Not that I want you to be,
contacting me.

With you gone, no one knows my true form,
and for that I am grateful.

"I'd never felt alone until I met you"

A sober life based off of drunken promises,

worse things have happened.
Greg told me that I have a lot of people in my corner,
I know it was about work, but it's something that I think I need to remember.
It's easy to stare at your opponent, it's easy to turn your back to your corner.

What Lasts

you're so "buried" you boss says, "I'll leave you alone now"
you sleep less than five hours
worked over ten

I thought of you once yesterday (while I was there)

and what prompted it was asking myself what I would be thinking about if I could

I know what's good for me
but I also know now what I can keep up

I drink my coffee up until it is no longer warm
and I will love you until you turn cold

I expected more but that's alright

She Told Me Don't Think Like That

"I bet it hurts to read permanence
I used to think on all of this
And how you don’t
Damn it's hard to find
Sustenance when all I had
Was love for this

she told me don’t think like that it's really not that bad
I hope this makes you sad
If its something serious
then hit me up
But until then the door is shut
Forget my room"
“She asked, “You are in love, what does love look like?” To which I replied, “Like everything I’ve ever lost came back to me.””

"In the end one only experiences one's self"

"everything is on a sliding scale."
"Some day we'll miss this"

Human Underneath

I understood then,
you probably just did to check and see if underneath
you were still human.

Life is pulsing, raging all around me, everyone I love,

all I can think about is that sad summer,
with all of its potential and possibility,
because I was not even me.

Lips

the ghost of my wasted potential sits with me in the kitchen.

I tell it that I'm doing the best that I can, to which she responses with a breezy laugh, her long hair stays perfect still.

  what, you think I've forgotten?
  I say aloud, upset now.
it's written inside of my lips like stone, and you follow me without my consent now, from home to home to home.
