Chopped and Screwed Over

a lifetime of situations perfectly executed to con me into speaking with you.

you saw the good in me, and clawed it out for no reason at all.

with plain fingernails i begged you kept short, so it wouldn't hurt me so terribly.

did you think i would always recognize you?

misplaced, mismatched, disfigured and hallow.

sewn, stitched, ripped to shreds, then put back together again.

did you always think i would recognize you?

new ligaments, eyes, and organs.

well one thing is familiar,

i know that heart as my own.

do you have ANY idea how embarrassing it is remaining to be a pawn in a game that you so long ago and tragically lost?
