I just had a fine time; turned off my cell phone in exchange for story telling, and listening. I love listening to a story being told to me passionately where the speaker really feels something for the situation being recounted, even if it is hilarity or humility. The absence of cryptic tongues, or brow-furrowed glances was an indescribable weight lifted. And once in a blue moon I allow myself to not only disregard thoughts of those things, but additionally restrain from thoughts of how they will inevitably return preceeding their time of vacancy. It was nice to be included in something not simply by proximity or as a sort of proxy, but to be a part of happening decisions and wanted as company more than for company. We agreed it was never ever a good idea to push your luck. So we didn't.
