(This is not the future you had envisioned for us, I can see it in your eyes
But it is for the best, better one than neither of us getting out alive)

Go on without me, to that bright future
For people who try so hard and learn from their mistakes
I know well enough now to know that you knew me well enough to know I wasn't doing great
If I were to hold you back in any way it would be something I just couldn't take
So let's just forget about me and this with such haste, there just seems to be so much time
to waste

So futile, but it seems I will keep writing
I have so much to share with you, I've just got nothing to say
